What is Sharad Purnima?
Sharad Purnima is the harvest full moon of Ashwin, the night the Moon is held to shine with all sixteen kalas — its full complement — and to rain healing nectar.
How it is observed
Rice kheer is left out under the open moon overnight and eaten at dawn. In Braj the night is kept as the Rasa Lila, Krishna’s dance with the gopis.
