How the dates are worked out
Each purpose has its own list of favourable nakshatras, and its own tithis and weekdays to avoid, following the mainstream reading of Muhurta Chintamani. A window opens only while the Moon’s nakshatra and the tithi are both acceptable, and closes the moment either changes.
Bhadra, the inauspicious yogas, Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika are cut out of every window. Weddings and griha pravesh are also barred for whole periods: Kharmas, Chaturmas, an Adhik (Mal) maas, and the weeks Jupiter or Venus is combust.
Timings are for New Delhi. The changes of tithi and nakshatra fall at the same instant everywhere, so elsewhere in India a window moves by only a few minutes at its edges.
