Nag Panchami 2029 falls on Tuesday, August 14, 2029 in New Delhi. It is Shravana Shukla Paksha Panchami in the Hindu lunar calendar. Sunrise is 5:50 AM and sunset 7:00 PM.
The tradition names no separate muhurat for this festival — it is observed through the day. Abhijit is the day’s generally auspicious window and Rahu Kaal the one to avoid.
Nag Panchami is the day of the serpent deities, kept on the fifth of the waxing moon in Shravana — the height of the monsoon, when snakes are driven out of flooded burrows and into human paths.
How it is observed
Milk and flowers are offered at snake images, anthills and temple nagas. Ploughing and digging are avoided, so as not to disturb what lives underground.
