What is the Panchang?

Panchang (from Sanskrit pancha-anga, “five limbs”) is the traditional Hindu calendar that describes each day through five elements: the tithi (lunar day), nakshatra (moon’s constellation), yoga, karana and vaar (weekday). Together with sunrise, sunset and the day’s muhurtas it tells you when to begin important work — and when to wait.
