The fire corner is read as too hot for a child’s sleep — associated with restlessness and irritability. Where it is fixed, keep the room cool in colour, the bed to the room’s south-west, and screens out of it.
What the South-East governs
The south-east — Agneya — is the fire corner, and it is where fire belongs. The kitchen, the boiler, the electrical load: the tradition puts heat here because heat placed elsewhere is held to disturb the zone it lands in.
Where the Children’s bedroom belongs
A child’s room is read differently from the master bedroom: it wants movement, growth and morning light rather than weight. The tradition is also more relaxed here, and school-age and adult children are often placed differently.
