A south-west door is the placement the tradition warns about most, on the grounds that the heaviest corner should be closed. Where it cannot be moved, the remedies are a second, more-used entrance elsewhere, weight and storage restored to the corner inside, and the door itself kept modest.
What the નૈઋત્ય governs
The south-west — Nairutya — is the earth corner: the heaviest, most grounded part of the plan. It is where the tradition puts what should not move, which is why the master bedroom and the structural mass belong here and water does not.
Where the મુખ્ય દ્વાર belongs
The main door is where the tradition says the house meets the world, and it is the placement most people can still change — a door can be re-hung where a kitchen cannot be moved. The light directions take it; the heavy ones are held to admit what you would rather keep out.
