Best placed in the ঈশান
A north-east door is the classical best case: the entrance sits in the lightest, most protected corner, and the tradition asks only that it be kept clear, well lit and free of shoe racks and clutter.
What the ঈশান governs
The north-east — Ishanya — is the most protected corner in the whole mandala. It carries water and belongs to Shiva, and every school agrees on the same instruction: keep it light, clean, open and low. Almost every serious Vastu fault is some version of loading this corner.
Where the মুখ্য দ্বার belongs
The main door is where the tradition says the house meets the world, and it is the placement most people can still change — a door can be re-hung where a kitchen cannot be moved. The light directions take it; the heavy ones are held to admit what you would rather keep out.
